Advanced perspective
(3 point perspective, light and shadows, ellipses)

3 point perspective

The difference between 2 point perspective and 3 point perspective is that when drawing 2 point perspectives the lines appear parallel, however, when drawing the 3 point perspective the lines do not seem to be parallel - they appear to be slanting slightly. When drawing thing in 3 point perspectives all aspects of the drawing gets distorted (depth, width, & height). Width and depth are still on the horizon line (vanishing point).

Light and shadows

The importance of light and shadows is keen when drawing a realistic drawing as it ties thing to the ground. However, to figure out where the shadows lie we need to figure out where the source of the light is coming from. It is important to figure out where the light source is coming from as that distinguishes how long the shadows are; higher light source creates shorter shadows /  lower light source creates longer shadows.

Ellipses

Ellipses curve up and down, either below or above the horizon line, when looking at them from different angles. Sometimes the ellipses seem to be a straight line if they are on a horizon line.
